Beautiful tragedy. Historically interesting to hear the perspective of the Turks at Gallipoli, but more than that it is filled with beautiful descriptions of exotic places and people, whose life seems to jump out of the pages at you and beg you to hear the rest of their stories.

Not bad, but I found myself reading it just for the sake of finishing. Seemed a little pretentious, or maybe I’m just shallow. Seemed like a book that should be read 3 or more times to get the most from it.
